14 NOVEMBER 2017 | NATIONAL CONFERENCE CENTRE - BIRMINGHAM - DELIVERED

The Midlands Construction Summit 2017 brought together the regional construction industry and its supply chain to explore opportunities, major projects, client commitments and procurement best practice. The conference was chaired by the Built Environment Hub Chairman and Managing Director of Stepnell - Mark Wakeford.

The outstanding speaker line-up was opened by Ann Bentley, Global Board Director at Rider Levett Bucknall discussing "procure for better value - value for clients delivered by valued suppliers". Other speakers included Maela Baker from Pick Everard who impressed the audience by focusing on the need to offer a wider range of routes into the industry to ensure we have the skill set we need going forward, Robin Lapish, Supply Chain Manager at HS2 who took to the stage to showcase the 10 year pipeline of opportunity with HS2 and Mark Farmer from CAST who gave the audience an update on Modernise or Die: One Year On.

Our high-profile Exhibitors included Border Archaeology, ITS Construction, Rider Levett Bucknall, Premier Modular, Senior Architectural Systems and many more. Throughout the day there was significant networking opportunities with exhibitors, speakers and other delegates. The exhibition and conference left delegates better informed and interested to find out more.

The Midlands Construction Summit is organised by the Built Environment Hub, a collaboration of Midlands regional businesses – a not-for-profit membership organisation owned by the members. The Hub works to support and advance the  construction sector through collaboration, knowledge sharing, networking and by engaging with government and major public sector bodies to influence policy and industry initiatives, to ultimately safeguard the interests of our members and help build their businesses.
